GETTING STARTED & SCHEDULING
The easiest way to get started is to complete our New Patient Registration Form.
The information you provide helps our team understand your concerns, review your needs, and determine the appropriate next steps for scheduling.
Please contact Neuropsychology Partners as soon as possible if you need to cancel or reschedule.
Because neuropsychological evaluations and therapy appointments reserve clinical time specifically for each patient, applicable cancellation or rescheduling policies may apply. Our staff can provide the current policy.
Referral requirements vary depending on the service being requested, your insurance plan, and your individual circumstances.
Some patients are referred by physicians or other healthcare professionals, while others contact Neuropsychology Partners directly.
Our staff can help determine whether a referral or other documentation is required.
You don’t need to determine that on your own.
Tell us about the concerns you or your family member are experiencing — such as memory changes, difficulty concentrating, possible ADHD, concussion symptoms, changes following a brain injury or stroke, difficulties at school or work, or emotional concerns.
Our team can help determine the appropriate next step.
Neuropsychological Testing
A neuropsychological evaluation is a comprehensive assessment of cognitive, behavioral, and psychological functioning.
It combines clinical history, relevant records, and standardized testing to examine areas such as memory, attention, language, processing speed, problem-solving, executive functioning, and other cognitive abilities.
The results can help identify patterns of strengths and weaknesses, clarify diagnoses, and guide treatment and recommendations.
Testing may be helpful for a wide range of concerns, including:
- Memory loss and cognitive changes
- Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI)
- Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia
- ADHD and attention difficulties
- Learning difficulties
- Concussion and traumatic brain injury (TBI)
- Stroke
- Neurological conditions
- Executive-function difficulties
- Processing-speed difficulties
- Changes in thinking or everyday functioning
- Psychological or emotional factors that may affect cognitive functioning
Testing may be appropriate when changes or difficulties involving memory, attention, concentration, learning, organization, language, decision-making, or other cognitive abilities are interfering with school, work, relationships, independence, or everyday life.
Testing may also be recommended following a concussion, traumatic brain injury, stroke, neurological diagnosis, or when there are concerns about ADHD, Mild Cognitive Impairment, dementia, or another condition affecting cognitive functioning.
An evaluation typically includes a clinical interview and review of relevant history followed by standardized testing.
Depending on the reason for the evaluation, testing may assess:
- Memory and learning
- Attention and concentration
- Executive functioning
- Processing speed
- Language
- Problem-solving
- Academic abilities when appropriate
- Emotional and behavioral functioning
The specific tests are selected according to the patient’s individual needs and the questions the evaluation is intended to answer.
The length of an evaluation depends on the patient’s needs and reason for testing.
Many evaluations involve approximately 3–4 hours of testing, although some may be shorter or longer.
Additional time is required after testing for scoring, clinical interpretation, report preparation, and feedback.
Yes. Breaks can generally be provided when appropriate.
Please let the clinical team know if fatigue, pain, a medical condition, attention difficulties, or another concern may affect your ability to complete testing.
IN-PERSON & VIRTUAL SERVICES
Yes. Neuropsychology Partners offers virtual services when clinically appropriate.
Depending on the service and the patient’s needs, care may be provided in person, virtually, or through a combination of both approaches.
Appropriate portions of some neuropsychological evaluations may be completed remotely using secure technology.
Not every test, clinical situation, or patient is appropriate for fully remote testing. Some evaluations may therefore require in-person testing or a combination of virtual and in-person appointments.
Our clinical team will help determine the most appropriate format.
You don’t need to make that decision yourself.
Our clinical team considers the reason for the evaluation, patient’s age and clinical needs, tests required, technology access, and other relevant factors when determining whether an in-person, virtual, or combined approach is appropriate.
Patients participating remotely generally need:
- A reliable internet connection
- A compatible computer or device
- A camera and microphone
- A quiet, private environment
- Minimal interruptions during the appointment
Our staff will provide any additional instructions before your appointment.
TEEN, ADHD & ACADEMIC EVALUATIONS
Yes. Neuropsychology Partners provides evaluations for teens age 12 and older.
Testing can help evaluate attention, learning, memory, executive functioning, processing speed, emotional functioning, concussion-related concerns, neurological conditions, and other issues affecting academic or everyday functioning..
Yes. A comprehensive evaluation can examine attention, concentration, executive functioning, memory, processing speed, emotional factors, and other areas that may contribute to ADHD-like symptoms.
A comprehensive evaluation can also help distinguish ADHD from other conditions or factors that may produce similar difficulties.
Yes. When appropriate, an evaluation may examine cognitive and academic abilities to better understand factors contributing to difficulties at school or college.
The findings can help identify strengths and weaknesses and provide individualized recommendations.
A neuropsychological evaluation can provide objective clinical information that may be useful when requesting appropriate accommodations.
Schools, colleges, testing organizations, employers, and other institutions establish their own documentation requirements and make their own accommodation decisions. When appropriate, our reports can provide clinical findings and recommendations to support that process.

Information from a parent, spouse, family member, or caregiver can be particularly helpful when evaluating memory changes, dementia, brain injury, developmental or learning concerns, or changes in everyday functioning.
The appropriate level of participation depends on the patient’s circumstances and the nature of the evaluation.
RESULTS, REPORTS & FOLLOW-UP
After testing, the results are scored, reviewed, and interpreted in the context of the patient’s history and reason for evaluation.
The findings are then discussed during a feedback appointment, providing an opportunity to explain the results, answer questions, and discuss recommendations and appropriate next steps.
Yes. Neuropsychological evaluations typically include a detailed written report explaining the findings and providing individualized recommendations.
With appropriate authorization, reports may also be shared with referring physicians or other healthcare professionals involved in the patient’s care.

THERAPY SERVICES
Yes. Neuropsychology Partners provides therapy services in addition to neuropsychological assessment.

Not necessarily.
The appropriate starting point depends on your needs and the reason you are seeking services. Some patients may benefit from neuropsychological evaluation before beginning treatment, while others may begin with therapy.
Our team can help determine the appropriate next step.
Therapy services may include individual therapy and support addressing emotional, behavioral, cognitive, and adjustment-related concerns.
